I would like to ask everyone to please slow down or stop and spend a few minutes to look over Waverly’s tribute to Veterans at the corner of 4th St. SW and West Bremer Avenue.

Some changes have been made in regards to landscaping, care and maintenance.  In truth it has taken awhile to convince the City that this is their park and share responsibility for the care and upkeep.  That said; the efforts this year by parks staff have truly made a difference and I have personally thanked those involved.  There is still some work to be done to complete the landscaping and hopefully an irrigation system will be installed this fall.  July 4th of this year (2014) was the 10th anniversary of the dedication of this Tribute.  Please refer to the TRIBUTES link for more information regarding the Waverly Area Veterans Tribute.
