Ladies Auxiliary Newsletter – April, 2014

Ladies Auxiliary Newsletter – April, 2014

Members are encouraged to keep track of Hy-Vee receipts as well as, Box Tops For Education, and Campbell’s soup labels.  These can be brought to the Auxiliary  meetings or given to an Auxiliary member and we will take them to the schools for their fundraisers. Deadline for this year’s collection of Hy-Vee receipts in April 30.  Please remember to keep records of your volunteer hours, mileage,  and cash donations to various organizations. An example of project include: hospital volunteering,  blood drives, donating blood, hospice work, donating food, helping at funerals, driving elderly to appointments. This is not an exclusive list. Keep track of everything  and anything, turn the information into an auxiliary member and we will sort out what can be reported.

We will be filling out our reports this month, so if you have hours, mileage, or monetary amounts to report, please give that information to me or any of our officers  before April 15th.

Scholarship forms for our local AMVETS Auxiliary have been distributed at the High School. If you know any High School senior that would qualify, encourage them  to fill out the form and turn in. Our scholarship chairperson, Patti Kaiser, will pick up the forms from there. We will be selecting winners in April. There also are forms  for the State and National Scholarship available on our Website. Go to www.waverlyvets.us, click on the AMVETS logo, go to the links page, and you can find the  forms under National AMVETS or National AMVETS Auxiliary.

Our Ladies will be doing the Thursday food night. The menu for the April food night will be beef and noodles prepared by Marge Dietz.  The cost will be $7.00 per person.
