Josephine Yarcho Iserman, 88, of Waverly, died Monday, May 19, at Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community, Waverly.

She was born May 7, 1926, in Waverly, daughter of Harland E. and Ruth Richardson Yarcho. She married Vern R. Iserman in 1970; he died in 2001.

Josephine graduated from Waverly High School in 1944 and received her bachelor of music degree from Cornell College, Mount Vernon, in 1948. She taught vocal and instrumental music in Shell Rock, Janesville, Dumont and Wapsie Valley for over 19 years, retiring in 1970.

Survived by: a daughter, Ruthanne Iserman Chazen; a son, Mark (Barb) Hanawalt; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: her parents; and a sister, Roberta.

Private graveside services: were held at Harlington Cemetery, Waverly, with honors by Waverly AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Post #79.
