  Annoying Sins July 2014
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. Psalm 51:2 (KJV

Here in Iowa, flies and mosquitoes are common pests. Around our home, we have fixed a screen on all windows and doors to try to keep the bugs, insects, out. But because the doors are frequently used, I often see flies get in. Then they can only be gotten rid of with a swatter.

Just one buzzing fly is enough to really irritate!

Many times, a single sin, a single weakness in our lives is like a disturbing pest that contaminates our “house”. David was a loyal, diligent, and outstanding servant of God, but his particular inclinations led him to sin, from which he needed cleansing.
Our sins can prevent us from fulfilling God’s intended ministry for us. When we dishonor the Lord, it will affect our witness for him.

Like a buzzing fly, sin must be swatted down as quickly as possible or it will distract us from serving God.
