My Portion and My Cup September 2015

You have signed me my cup; you have made my lot secure. Psalm 16:5 (NIV)

Remember skipping along, dutifully following the person in front of you, as you traced out a large circle. Suddenly, the music ceased and there’s a mad dash for the chairs placed in the middle of the room. All but one in the circle found a place to sit during the scramble. Thus began a session of musical chairs.

Luckily, when we seek the Lord, we do not have to make a chaotic run for a spot to call “ours.” God created a unique place in the world for each of us; long before we even knew of God. It is such a relief to know that we don’t have to fight against the masses to ensure a position of meaning in God’s perfect will. It is given to us when we choose God.
