Are We There Yet? August 2014

Are we there yet?” our son asked after only short time he had asked this question, and we all knew it wouldn’t be the last. He would ask it at least a thousand more times, and this was only his hundredth time.

I look back at those long drives not with announce but with a smile. Now, I think of how many times I, too, have been impatient to get somewhere in life. For instance, when I was little I could hardly wait to turn thirteen be able to do what the big boys did. After that, I wanted to be sixteen and have my driver’s license. Then it was get a job and then retirement. Now, I need to start thanking God for every sunrise, every spring flower, and everything else God blesses me with every day.
