I want to thank guest speaker, Ted Lanske, Commander of the AMVETS. He spoke on the upcoming WAVP building which he spoke of in his section of the newsletter.

As we prepare for our upcoming Membership dinner and our 6 months’ reports, mark your calendar and plan to attend. Also, bring with you any items that can be reported. An example of items include: items donated to Goodwill or Trinkets and Togs, cash donations to local or national fundraising, volunteering throughout the community, at hospitals and nursing homes. This is just a short list. If you are not sure, write it down and we will sort it out.

I want to thank Marge Dietz for her time spent repairing POW flags.

Also a big thank you to Amy Slaba for starting up our Facebook page. This will give us an opportunity to communicate more about upcoming events. “Like” us on Facebook to learn more about Waverly AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Post #79.

In September our Auxiliary donated to the Bremer Co. VA for upkeep to the van used to transport veterans to Iowa City VA for checkups and medical appointment. Because of your continued support through membership and our monthly food nights, we are able to do this type of project for our community. Please renew your membership for the 2014-2015 year and join us for our monthly food night.
