10 members of the Ladies Auxiliary traveled to Iowa City to tour the Ronald McDonald House. Barbara Werning-Dee, executive director, guided us through the house, explaining what they do for the families of children being treated at the Iowa City Children’s Hospital. Barbara talked about how and why they started, their partnership with the hospital, and the continued growth, needs, and how they rely on volunteers and the generosity of donations. During our visit we also donated 10 teddy bears that will be used to bring comfort to children admitted to the hospital.
