We also had many of our Auxiliary Members receive Awards at AMVETS State Convention. I am so proud of our Auxiliary and the time and effort they put in volunteering throughout the community and their continues support of our Veterans.

auxiliary winners from State Convention 2015I was also elected to 3rd Vice President for the State of Iowa AMVETS Auxiliary, joining other State officers, Donna Fischer, NEC woman, and Jean Lanske, Hospital Rep. to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. I look forward to working with the other State officers for the upcoming year.

We are still looking for an Auxiliary member to fill the Chaplain position. Marj, last year’s Chaplain, has offered to help anyone interested in this position.  Some of the duties include prayers during our meetings, sending “well wishes” to auxiliary members in need, memorial services for deceased auxiliary members, and filing bi-yearly reports. The position may sound complicated, but it is not. This is a very fulfilling position and also remember that you will have the support and guidance of all officers. Please consider volunteering for this position and call me 319-230-9318 if interested.
