Since Commander Bob O’Hare is in sunny Texas, I will attempt to make everyone aware of current and upcoming events.

As many of you are already aware, the NFL has rejected a Super Bowl program ad by the national AMVETS organization.  The ad was very simple; a flag carried by an honor guard, the AMVETS emblem, and two words at the top of the ad “Please Stand”.  It was because of these two words the NFL rejected the ad.  The same ad has been approved by the NBA and the NHL.  For all details and the national commander’s response to the NFL, simply google “AMVETS NFL.”

Scholarship applications are due April 1, 2018.  For details on these $2000 scholarships, simply google “Iowa AMVETS scholarships”.

  Waverly Connected – Feb. 22 – 7:30 am at WAVP

This is a Chamber sponsored program and will be an excellent opportunity to showcase our facility to all Chamber members.  WAVP will provide coffee and rolls, followed by a brief program, and will conclude by 8:30 for tours of the facility.  If you would be willing to assist in any way, please notify Carl Benning or Bob O’Hare.
